I am not an Object

This painting is about how most women feel when they are approached or watched by the male gender, they feel naked and on display.

 

 

 

 I am more than just this

This idea came from a survey of asked questions directed at the male gender. They admitted that the idealfemale body was their main focus.(Breast, bottom, legs)

 

 

 

 The Gaze

The feeling of invisibility and nakedness makes one feel fragile, almost like a glass object.

 

 

 

 Blurred Vision

The vision of the eye in the tear looking out at its surrounding’s. Everything it sees is blurred when painis felt.

 

 

 

 

 The Red Rose

Falling white petals turning into blood as they get nearer to the over flowing hand holding the bloody rose, could be seen as grief and pain or robbing of innocence.

 

 

 

 Thorn in the lip

This painting is about Domestic violence, a rose is given as an excuse that all is well and is used to cover up reality. (Happy Valentine)

 

 

 Skin deep

Pain is not just skin deep it goes below the surface, this painting shows this by the imbedding of running stitches, of a rose stem, each prick is a painful existence and a remainder.
